del.icio.us
I’m probably a little late in getting to this one since I just saw a tiny article about it in Newsweek but nevertheless it deserves a post. “delicious” (del.icio.us), is not only a creative URL but is a really cool “community bookmark” application. The basic idea is I can add my bookmarks to this site and it shows me other people that have bookmarked the same page and allows me to browse their other bookmarks. But the absolutely coolest thing is the fact that they generate RSS feeds from the bookmarks. This allows RSS readers to see the bookmarks (ok so maybe thats not that useful), BUT since firefox has “live bookmarks” (aka RSS reader) I can just add the RSS to my firefox bookmarks then I can share my bookmarks between home, work, and laptop and they appear to be just regular old bookmarks in firefox. So I’m just starting to populate my bookmarks but you can find them here: http://del.icio.us/bmills
