Finally an article on WVAH tower collapse
Last night while I was writing articles about the tower collapse in my hometown I was trying to find news articles about the collapse. To my dismay I was only able to find one article about the collapse. Thanks to WKYT in Kentucky and Google News I found this. Even the station that owned the tower, WVAH, had nothing on their site to inform its viewers they were off the air. They are even associated with one of the three major news stations in Charleston WCHS-TV8 and they had nothing on the collapse. To date there is still nothing on the WVAH homepage indicating that they are no longer broadcasting!
Finally this morning an article popped up on WVAH detailing the collapse. The article was written by Kennie Bass a news reporter for its sister station WCHS. Kennie probably doesn’t remember me but I was an intern at WCHS while he was working on the morning show. I would hope to see some pictures of the collapse in the near future. Being that this was a “very familiar landmark to people driving along interstate 64 in Putnam County for 20 years” it should be a much bigger local news story.
